My mother likes telling the story that
when I was in eight grade, she put me on punishment, whereby I
couldn't watch TV for a week. So instead I picked up a
guitar.....and never put it down. I don't remember
it that way, but somewhere in there I thought it was cool to jump
around with a guitar and make a lot of noise. Eventually, it started to sound good.
Along the way, I learned how to play piano and bass.
I've played for gospel choirs throughout
college and post college. One highlight was playing in the backup band for
then-up and coming artist, Kirk Franklin for a concert in Atlanta. I also
recorded a CD of Christian jazz instrumentals.
I am now heavily involved in writing
and producing R&B/pop tunes.
